Job Description :
- Implement plan for efficent daily receiving
- Use handheld wireless device to properly grade incoming and outgoing scrap deliveries
- Champion of all scrap grades and non-conforming materials (defines criteria for grading scrap, disseminates internally and externally to achieve the desired quality level)
- Ability to interact and instruct others in the safe practices of scrap off-loading, inspection and storage
- Visually inspect scrap for grade and quality
- Identify and separate non-conforming materials, document the evidence (photos) and apply the associated penalty to the supplier
- Manage scrap pile inventories
- Regularly consult with the scrap buyers, suppliers, and operators regarding scrap quality
- Provide daily reporting of scrap quality and receiving efficiency
- Educate workforce on scrap inspection policies, procedures and importance of inspections
- Participates in routine meetings
- Create improvement plans related to the inspection of raw materials
Duties & Responsibilities :
Responsible for ensuring the quality of incoming feedstock for the shredderDaily creation of yard-wide receiving plan, coordinate with supervisors and hourly inspectorsClassification, organization and management of inventoryChecking, verifying, inputting and record-keeping pertaining to the receipt & inspection of scrap metalDevelopment of new methods of tracking materials through the shredder processOrganization and management of the shipping of processed materialFrequent periods during which physical exertion is required such as walking long distances across uneven ground, standing, moving small pieces of scrap off of roadways, stooping, etc.Tasks performed primarily outdoors with regular exposure to factors such as inclement weather, moving machinery, loud noise etc.Requirements :
