What you’ll be doing :
The position will involve managing IMAX Live projects from conception through completion. You will be working with various internal departments to coordinate equipment deliveries, manpower requirements, and documentation.
The Project Manager will also work with our theater partners and IMAX’s Connectivity PM to track the progress of the project and provide internal reports and schedule updates.
Prepare and monitor project schedules and approve contractor invoices.
Order equipment required from other internal departments. Ensure shipping coordinators are clear on the requirements and delivery specifics.
Coordinate delivery of equipment with our partners. The Project Manager is to be pro-active in ensuring that the correct equipment is delivered at the right time.
- Forecast installations as accurately as possible for the company to prepare quarterly and yearly installation budgets.
- Ensure installations are completed to meet scheduled targets and budgets.
- Prepare, track, and maintain a project schedule outlining specific LIVE rack installs.
- Co-ordinate and manage the installation of the Booth Junction Box with our partners or electrical vendor. This includes approving vendor invoices.
- Prepare and review on a weekly basis a project report based on completed installs and commissioning’s.
- Project Managers are responsible for all costs charged to the project budget and are to do everything possible to keep costs to a minimum without compromising the results or client satisfaction.
All costs charged to a project, including timesheets, expenses, invoices from vendors or contractors must be approved by the Project Manager.
Projects are expected to be completed on or under budget unless the Project Manager can provide justification for overruns.
- Ensure that our theatre partner has all the information required to coordinate within their internal teams.
- Report and Co-ordinate with Senior Director of Project Management on current status and forecasted weekly installs and commissioning’s.
- Coordinate with the Install Team for manpower requirements and schedules. Ensure the appropriate people are available as required.
- Coordinate with IMAX Live Coordinator to ensure Sales Orders have been created, invoices paid, and schedules updated.
- Monitor all Fiber Circuit installs with Connectivity PM to ensure equipment deliveries and installations are on schedule.
Report on the progress and / or any significant issues in the Bi-weekly Theatre Development Status Report, or immediately if required.
Ensure that the site is ready for the installation of IMAX equipment. Contact each site and confirm equipment access path.
Relay information back to each IMAX supervisor.
- Monitor the equipment installation process, and deal with all problems or issues that arise in the appropriate manner.
- Upon completion, issue an Installation Summary Report to Senior Director of Project Management.
- Ensure all project related documentation is complete, including all correspondence.
- Prepares and monitors project budgets. Ensures all cost charged to the project are justified and correct, and all expenditures are by the most cost-effective means.
- Provides quarterly spending forecasts for current and following quarters and years.
- Provides information to finance on LIVE installation reports.
- Hand system over to Technical Services once contractual commitment has been met. Provide documentation to show system was installed and operating properly to start warranty period.
- Provide feedback to various internal departments in order to improve project execution and reduce costs.
- Provide monthly reports on each project to various internal departments.
- Provide Executive Summaries.
What we’re looking for :
- Proficient computer skills including knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to review, analyze and prioritize information, make decisions and provide clear and concise instructions.
- Ability to interact with various cultures and different languages.
- Basic budgeting and accounting skills.
- Experience with SAP, Smartsheet, and SharePoint.
