Holt Executive are partnered with a leading Global Satellite and Space leader that provides reliable and secure satellite-delivered voice and high-speed data communications solutions to broadcast, telecommunications, corporate and government customers worldwide. They are now developing a LEO constellation that will revolutionize global broadband connectivity for enterprise.
Our partner is seeking a Satellite Payload Engineer to play a crucial role in the successful development, qualification, and performance of spacecraft hardware for the constellation.
Key Responsibilities :
- Working closely with the wider payload team, you will build your knowledge of the responsibilities of a payload engineer.
- Supporting with the development, qualification, and performance of the hardware to ensure that it meets the program requirements.
- Monitor the spacecraft and payload unit design activities to ensure that the services and deliveries meet all technical requirements.
- Participate in payload integration and testing activities.
- Support through the working with cross-functional teams the resolution of design, production, or test issues.
- Evaluate technical analyses presented by the spacecraft supplier.
- Analyzing design and test / production data and actively participating in various meetings with the spacecraft manufacturer and other suppliers.
- Supporting payload In-Orbit Testing (IOT) and commissioning activities.
- Preparing presentations and regular status reports.
Required Skills / Experience :
A degree in Electrical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).1-3 years of relevant work experience (space industry experience preferred, but not mandatory).Knowledge of active and passive RF component design (transmission lines / waveguides, filters, antennas, amplifiers, etc.).Knowledge of electronic circuit design, processors and digital communication (digital to analog & analog to digital conversion, encoding / decoding, modulation / demodulation schemes, etc.).Some familiarity with manufacturing & testing of RF / digital components.Some knowledge of optical communications an asset (optical fibers, lasers, detectors, etc.)Some knowledge of network components and protocols an asset (ethernet, routing fundamentals, etc.)Technical expertise supported by strong organizational and planning skills.Technical, presentation, interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written).Experience with, or a willingness to learn how to use collaborative software such as Jira, Confluence & Jama.Familiarity with MathWorks MATLAB.The successful candidate must be able to work in Canada and be able to obtain a Reliability Clearance.
This opportunity offers a hybrid work model with 4 days per week in the office and occasional travel is anticipated.
