We are currently seeking a Privacy Risk Advisor for our municiple government client located in Toronto.

This is a unionized fulltime permanent role offering a hybrid working model.

The Privacy Risk Advisor is responsible for developing, implementing and advising on operational aspects of programs for enterprise access to information & protection of privacy and records & risk management.

This will include the framework, compliance to legislation, policies, procedures, and best practices to support privacy and risk strategic directions.

Responsibilities : Privacy :

Develop, implement, and maintain the enterprise privacy program, this includes policy and procedure writing, privacy impact assesment, breach rpotocols, and freedom of information requests ensuring legislation compliance
Work with multiple stakeholders to ensure application of privacy framework minimizes risk, breaches, and ensures personal information is confidential
Keep abreast on updates in privacy legislation and advise on best practices
Ensure privacy is embedded into the desgin and operation of IT
Ensure the organization maintains privacy and confidentiality procedures and authorization forms
Lead the Privacy Impact Assesment process
Educate and deliver training on privacy

Records Management :

Develop, implement, and maintain enterprice records management program, this includes establishing standards, guidelines, and practices for information life cycle

Ensure best practices within the program and its in compliance with legislation

Advise on electronic and physical life cycle records management practice including classification and storage

Develop a plan to integrate records management policies and practices into business processes

Develop, advise, and maintain a records retention scheudle

Requirements :

Minimum 1-2 years' experience in a similar privacy role working with the public sector

Certified Information and Privacy Professional (CIPP) and / or Certified Privacy Manager(CIPM) and / or Canadian Risk Management Designation (CRM) is a strong asset

Experience leading and conducting Provacy Impact Assesments
