As part of our growth strategy, Connexus is expanding its industrial laser and safety product portfolio , including forklift-mounted laser guidance and safety systems. We are seeking a high-energy, entrepreneurial product manager / outside sales professional to help build this business.
The Opportunity : This is not a relationship-maintenance role.
We are seeking a hunter / builder who thrives on opening new accounts, generating demand, and navigating industrial environments. You will be responsible for growing our Laser Product Line across North America by getting in front of the right people , early in their decision-making process, and positioning Connexus as a trusted safety and solutions partner.
With coaching and support, you will learn to manage your territory like a mini-business - deciding where to focus, how to penetrate accounts, and how to position a safety solution that reduces risk, prevents incidents, and improves operational efficiency.
You will also inherit an established, low-maintenance business , providing a stable foundation while your primary focus remains on developing new customers and growing the laser safety portfolio .

This role is not a fit for candidates focused primarily on managing existing accounts.
High Activity / High Energy :
Comfortable making 30-50 outbound calls per day when needed.Enjoys walking plants, warehouses, docks, and yards.Physically and mentally resilient in industrial environments.Persistent and creative in reaching decision-makers.You should naturally think : “If I can’t get the safety manager, I’ll find the operations manager. If not, I’ll find the plant manager.”
Key Responsibilities :
New Market & Account Development (Primary Focus) :
Prospect aggressively to identify and develop new OEM, distributor, and high-volume end-user accounts.Build opportunities through outbound calling, site visits, plant walk-throughs, and referrals.Identify and engage safety managers, operations leaders, warehouse leaders, and plant leadership.Position Connexus laser safety solutions early in buying, design, and specification cycles.Navigate multi-stakeholder buying groups where users, influencers, and buyers differ.Product & Market Expansion :
Drive adoption of forklift-mounted laser guidance and collision-avoidance systems.Support the launch and expansion of new laser-based safety products.Work closely with the Product / Production Manager to help build a new value stream.Gather market feedback, competitive intelligence, and application insights to support product development.Sales Execution & Territory Ownership :
Own and develop a defined North American territory with a high-activity, field-driven approach.Conduct on-site demonstrations, solution presentations, and technical discussions.Build proposals focused on risk reduction, safety improvement, liability exposure, and ROI.Collaborate with distributors and channel partners to expand coverage and penetration.Manage opportunities from first contact through close and post-sale follow-up.Customer Support & Internal Collaboration :
Coordinate quotes, orders, deliveries, and ongoing customer communication.Work closely with Inside Sales, Engineering, and Technical teams to ensure successful implementation.Represent Connexus professionally as a trusted, responsive, and solutions-focused partner.Planning, Reporting & Discipline :
Develop and execute territory and account plans aligned with Connexus’ growth objectives.Maintain accurate CRM records, forecasts, and activity reporting.Manage a healthy pipeline through consistent prospecting and follow-up.Industry & Technical Aptitude :
Ideal Backgrounds : Experience in one or more of the following :
Forklift OEMs or dealers.Warehouse or material-handling automation.Industrial safety products.Sensors, vision systems, or controls.Capital equipment sales into operations-driven environments.You have basic understanding of :
Forklift traffic flows and congestion points.Blind corners, racks, aisles, and mixed pedestrian traffic.Operator behavior vs. management priorities.Safety- and OSHA-driven buying motivations.How incidents, near-misses, downtime, and liability impact the business.You don’t need to be a fully technical person - but you must be technically curious, credible on the floor, and comfortable discussing applications in real environments .
Qualifications :
1-3 years of experience in outside or sales with a strong new-business focus.Proven success prospecting and closing in industrial environments.Ability to read and interpret basic engineering drawings.Strong communication skills with high-level English proficiency.Post-secondary education in Sales, Marketing, Engineering, or related field preferred (not required).Proficiency with CRM and general computer applications.Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean driving record.Ability to travel across North America (30-50%), with additional local travel.Permanent Resident or Citizen status required.Why This Role :
