Located in beautiful Belle River, Ontario, this brand‑new Residence, opening in 2026, will offer 96 single‑occupancy rooms with ensuite, and 64 shared rooms, each designed for comfort and dignity. Residents will enjoy 24‑hour nursing care alongside a range of personalized supports that help them live well, feel valued, and stay connected to what matters most in their lives.

Scope of the Role
As a Personal Support Worker (PSW), you’ll support residents with daily living activities, promote independence, and ensure their well‑being, comfort, and dignity. Reporting to the Director of Care and Home Area (HA) Supervisor, you’ll work closely with the care team to deliver personalized, respectful care.
Responsibilities
Embody our person‑centred living philosophySupport residents with personal care and all Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), promoting independence and choiceMonitor and report changes in residents’ physical and emotional well‑being to registered staffAccurately document care and daily activities in electronic health recordsCommunicate professionally with residents, families, and team membersMaintain a clean, safe, and supportive environment, following all health and safety protocolsAssist with meals, nourishment delivery, and feeding support as neededParticipate in care conferences and contribute to individualized care planningUse Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) when managing responsive behavioursSafely operate mechanical lifts and follow safe transfer techniquesEnsure personal care items are clean, labeled, and accessibleUphold all home policies, including the Code of Conduct, Mission, Vision, Values, and Residents’ Bill of RightsPerform other duties as required to support resident care and home operationsQualifications
PSW certification from a Ministry‑approved program of at least 600 hours, including class and practical experienceRegistration with HSCPOA preferredRNs, RPNs, or students in these programs may qualify if approved by the Director of CareExperience with person‑centered care philosophyStrong oral and written communication skillsEffective interpersonal skills focused on residents’ emotional well‑being and positive interactionsFrench speaking an assetCompliance & Health Requirements
A current Vulnerable Sector Check (including a Criminal Background Check) completed within the past six months, or willingness to obtain oneTB test results dated within the last six months, or within 14 days of hire; alternatively, a chest X‑ray completed within the last year, in accordance with Public Health guidelinesProof of all required vaccinations must be provided; staying "up to date" with recommended vaccines is strongly encouragedRequirements are subject to change based on Employer directivesRecruitment
