JOB DESCRIPTION :

We are looking for a baker with strong knowledge of Dutch recipes to develop and offer authentic Dutch bakery products to our customers. This year we have been establishing our bakery, and we are now looking for a baker with a deep understanding of Dutch culture and culinary traditions to help ensure the bakery’s success.

We are also seeking someone with cooking experience, as this will be a valuable asset for future projects.

Dutch Groceries is a staple in Ottawa, serving the local and Dutch communities by offering a taste of authentic culture from the Netherlands through traditional products and services.

Responsibilities :

• Develop and prepare a variety of Dutch bakery items, including pastries, breads, and traditional baked goods.
• Work closely with the owners to create new, innovative bakery products that appeal to both Dutch and local customers.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, consistency, and presentation.
• Manage daily baking operations, including dough preparation, baking, and decorating.
• Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Train and guide other bakery staff (if needed) on Dutch baking techniques and recipes.
• Assist in managing inventory, sourcing quality ingredients, and maintaining bakery equipment.
• Collaborate with the management team to develop seasonal offerings, promotional products, and events that highlight Dutch culinary traditions.

Location and Working Hours :

Working Hours : 30 hours per week, with flexible hours to accommodate busy seasons and events. Some weekend work may be required.
