NATURE OF THE WORK
The Building Technician, as a resource person, will be responsible for updating the building plans and the preventive maintenance platform database. As part of your responsibilities, you will be required to :
Use AutoCad software, prepare and update plans, drawings and diagrams intended to be deposited and made accessible in a central database;Consult various information sources such as files, plans, and sets of standards and specifications;Perform various calculations inherent to the role;Carry out, on-job or project sites, the necessary measurements for the preparation of drawings;Develop plans for existing or projected conditions;Ensure compliance with plans, drawings, and diagrams in accordance with CAD standards;Comment on plans and specifications provided by outside firms, as required;Handle data entry pertaining to equipment and perform updates in the Maximo database;Ensure application of the preventive maintenance program;Train less experienced technicians;Develop performance indicators in cooperation with your supervisor and prepare the required reports.REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Hold a diploma of College Studies in Building Systems Technology or diploma recognized as equivalent bythe competent authority;Have one year of drawing experience.Have one year of experience in preventive maintenance using a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system), considered an asset;Be proficient in the use of AutoCad drawing software;Be proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite;Have a good knowledge of French (oral and written) and a basic knowledge of spoken English;Obtain a passing grade on a basic Excel test;Hold the ASP Health and Safety on Construction Sites card (considered an asset);Hold a valid driver’s licence (Class 5).
