POSITION SUMMARY :
The VDC Manager plays a crucial role in the integration of digital technologies with the design, planning, and management processes in construction. The VDC Manager is responsible for managing and coordinating the Virtual Design and Construction efforts across construction projects throughout the business. This includes facilitating the integration of BIM (Building Information Modeling) technology, 3D modeling, and other digital tools to enhance the efficiency, accuracy, and communication of construction projects. Predominantly office-based, with occasional visits to construction sites to meet with project teams and stakeholders.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS :
Perform coordination reviews and assist in identifying constructability issues with the project team and subcontractors.Lead the implementation of VDC technologies.Assist training project staff and subcontractors on VDC / BIM related software and workflows as required.Facilitate the timely and orderly collection and / or coordination of all consultant 3D models.Lead model coordination meetings.Run clash detection on consultant models and assist in the resolution processes, and the coordination of design changes.Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and contractors to ensure model accuracy, integrity, and performance.Coordinate and manage the use of BIM software and tools across various stages of construction projects.Facilitate collaboration between stakeholders through the management of digital construction models and databases.Develop and enforce VDC standards, protocols, and workflows to optimize project outcomes.Train and support project team members in the use of VDC software and best practices.Monitor and report on the progress and effectiveness of VDC initiatives. Accumulate facilities management related information from project stakeholders for incorporation into VDC / 3D models.Stay abreast of industry trends, technologies, and innovations in VDC & BIM to improve project outcomes.Advise VDC Modelers on design and provide mentorship.Provide 3D Models in Navis format for review by the Site Foreperson and PM.Assist Estimating team with completion of RFP packages and scheduling.Travel to division offices and project sites as requiredOther duties as assignedEDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS :
Minimum 2-5 years’ experience working with VDC / BIM related softwareMinimum 2-5 years’ experience working with 3D scanners and data integrationMinimum 2-5 years construction knowledge and / or related work experienceKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED :
