Scope
The City of Surrey has a unique and exciting opportunity for an experienced leadership professional to join its senior management team and help shape the future of one of Canada's fastest growing and most diverse cities as their next General Manager, Planning & Development. This position will oversee the planning and development of Surrey's 6 unique communities and support the growth of the region's second metropolitan area. This includes being an integral part of key initiatives like the realization of the Surrey-Langley SkyTrain expansion and the delivery of key land use plans for communities like Semiahmoo Town Centre and City Centre.
Responsibilities
The General Manager, Planning & Development will also play a key part in fostering one of "Canada's Most Admired Corporate Cultures", where more than 4000 City employees have made it their mission to serve its community to improve the quality of life for everyone. Together with other members of the Senior Management Team, they will continue to promote a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement that moves the city forward.

Qualifications
As a candidate, you will bring a post-secondary degree in Urban Planning, Public / Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline with a minimum of ten years progressive experience in the leadership and administration of planning and development services in a municipal or regional setting.
