Job Description

HVAC Service Technicians core duties are as follows, but not limited to :

  • On site service of HVAC / R (heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration)
  • Preventative maintenance programs
  • New installation or retrofit of heating and cooling systems (can be on construction sites)
  • Start-up and commissioning of new and repaired equipment
  • Trouble shoot, service and repair or installation of various control systems. (Understanding of BMS is an asset but not mandatory)
  • Work on heat pumps and hydronic heating
  • Install or repair gas fired appliances. Leak detection and gas pressure calibration.
  • Provide repair solutions or recommendations to aid in project planning or quoting.
  • Maintain and operate a company vehicle
  • Participate in company COR safety program

Qualifications

  • Journeyman Red Seal status from an accredited HVAC / R program
  • Ability to read blueprints and electrical / control diagrams
  • Able to use a variety of hand and power tools, meters and testing equipment, rigging and handling equipment to preform duties
  • Highly motivated and able to work independently
  • Able to communicate with a positive attitude and a high level of customer service skill
  • Strong written communication skills for completion of necessary paperwork
  • Able to critically think and make decisions to provide the highest quality of service
  • Safety conscious
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license and a clean drivers abstract
  • Be able to provide a criminal records check
  • Any other trade related tickets or certifications are an asset
