Position Summary
Assist in the collection and analysis of data and information for asset management
Assist with construction and maintenance inspections
Assist with culvert and drainage system inspections
Responsible for basic surveying of existing field conditions using laser level
Complete various data entry duties as required
Assist with any other Public Works related duties including : inspections, attending meetings, data collection, and report writing
Perform traffic control duties in accordance with Book 7
Other duties as assigned
Hours of operation are typically between 7 : 00 am to 3 : 00 pm, (Monday to Friday)
Must be able to start full time work as of May 4, 2026
Qualifications, Competencies
MUST BE ENROLLED IN AND RETURNING TO FULL-TIME POST SECONDARY STUDIES IN FALL OF 2026 - Verification will be required
Must be enrolled in college or university in the field of Civil Engineering - Verification will be required
Must have a valid Class ‘G’ driver’s licence
Ability to drive and back-up a truck with a trailer attached an asset

Skills, Abilities, Work Demands
Ability to work outside in inclement weather conditions
Ability to work in an office environment and get along well with others
Strong computer skills using MS Word, Excel and Windows
Knowledge of Cartegraph or database asset management system
Motivated, self-starter who enjoys learning new skills
Proven customer service skills
Must provide and wear CSA approved protective footwear
Must be able to obtain and maintain a satisfactory criminal record check at candidate’s own expense
