Job Title : Senior IT Project Manager – Enterprise Delivery
Location : CHQ (Hybrid – 2 days remote)
Position Overview
The Government of Ontario is seeking a Senior IT Project Manager – Enterprise Delivery to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of IT projects within our enterprise product delivery portfolio. This role combines technical knowledge, strategic planning, and project leadership to ensure high-quality project outcomes that align with business objectives.
The Senior IT Project Manager will work closely with cross-functional teams, acting as a trusted partner to senior leadership, balancing competing priorities, and driving initiatives to successful completion.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Develop detailed project plans, schedules, and resource allocations for multiple concurrent IT initiatives.
Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with enterprise objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Act as the primary point of contact for business, product, and technical teams.
Facilitate clear communication, align expectations, and resolve project issues effectively.
Risk & Issue Management
Identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
Escalate critical issues as needed to senior leadership.
Process Improvement & Governance
Apply project management best practices to continuously improve delivery processes.
Maintain comprehensive project documentation and provide regular status updates to management.
Team Leadership & Delegation
Lead and support project teams, ensuring accountability and timely completion of delegated tasks.
Serve as a mentor to junior team members and provide guidance on project management methodologies.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT project management within enterprise environments.
Proven track record managing multiple IT projects simultaneously.
Strong understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC), cloud platforms, and enterprise IT systems.
Experience with both Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
Excellent organizational, prioritization, and delegation skills.
Strong problem-solving abilities and stakeholder management skills.
PMP, Agile, or equivalent project management certifications preferred.
