Our client, a leading manufacturer of metal processing for a variety of Industries, including Construction and Automotive to name a few, located in the Windsor (Lakeshore / Tecumseh) area is seeking a dynamic, highly motivated and experienced Quality Engineer with a minimum of 5-10 years of experience in an automotive based manufacturing environment, preferably in a Tier 2 supplier environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible to investigate, analyze and resolve quality problems by conducting internal audits, analyzing defect trends and leading continuous improvement projects. This role will work closely with the manufacturing team in an ongoing effort to plan, organize and ship all finished goods to the customers.

This position reports directly to the : Quality Manager
Responsibilities
- Work with the various Operations departments, to ensure Customer quality measurables are regularly reported and that appropriate and timely corrective actions are implemented.
- Maintain and update Customer Specific Audit System checklists and schedule to assure compliance.
- Conduct audits to drive process standardization, waste elimination, and continuous improvement.
- Monitor, communicate and improve key Customer / Internal KPI’s, including Customer Supplier Quality Standards, requirements etc.
- Establish specific short / long term quality goals.
- Champion problem solving and root cause analysis activities with suppliers and customers to eliminate recurrence of non-conformance.
- Champion internal part containment and required sort / certification activities.
- Work to resolve technical issues in a timely manner to ensure continuity of supply.
- Champion the Customer RMA process, including charting, and verification of product upon return to the company
- Work with the development, qualification and maintenance of our Supply Base, including APQP, PPAP’s, problem follow-up and Visitations as required.
- Develop long‐term Customer relationships, including Customer Facility visits, and generate and implement cost reduction ideas.
- Aid Manufacturing in the evaluation and qualification of New Program part runs following a defined new product development process. Support all APQP activities.

Educational Requirements
Bachelor of Engineering Degree or equivalent level from working experience with a focus on Quality Standards.Work Experience Requirements
5+ years of “hands-on” Quality Engineering related experience within a heavy industrial based manufacturing environment, preferably within a Tier 2 Supplier manufacturing environment.Experience in working with Automotive Customer Specifics.Previous knowledge of the aluminum extrusion industry from a manufacturing and maintenance equipment basis will be considered a significant asset.Experience in working on Customer required websites, including IMDS.Knowledge & Skills Requirements
IATF : 16949 : 2016 Quality System knowledge and experience is required.Able to understand and work with Measurement tools. (ie. calipers, Optical Comparator, CMM / Laser Scanner Reports, etc.)Excellent knowledge of blueprint reading and GD&T symbols.Proficient user in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, Power Point and OutlookCompetencies
