System Wellness and Social-Emotional Learning Support Worker

LOCATION : Servicing area schools : Homebase - Oxfordoffice

REPORTS TO : Mental Health Lead

SALARY : $46934.00 - $62681.00 commensurate with experience

TERM : Start Date ASAP - Return of Incumbent

FTE : 1.0 (35 hours per week)

JOB SUMMARY :

Under the supervision of the Mental Health Lead the incumbent supports the organization towards achieving its wellness goals through the building of resources strategies and simple everyday classroom practices accessible to educators to create and maintain a mentally healthy classroom. A knowledgeable resource the role helps implement social emotional learning and student well-being in the classroom by communicating available school-based mental health interventions that can be delivered universally or in targeted ways by school staff that contribute to the development of a safe learning environment. The incumbent will contribute to the development and delivery of mental health programmingto staff students and parents / caregivers to promote the development and reinforcement of social-emotional skills.

QUALIFICATIONS :

Education & Experience :

• Minimum 2-year college diploma in childrens mental health community and social services or a related field.
• Current unrestricted registration with a professional college is considered an asset.
• Experience working with children and youth and / or in school systems is considered an asset.
• Experience with program / training development and facilitation is considered an asset
