PURPOSE OF POSITION :

To be a business partner to suppliers, distributors, and various departments within YUM! Brands by providing analytics in support of assortment planning, location planning, key item planning, allocation and replenishment of product. In addition, the Supply Chain Manager is required to drive the planning process to maximize sales, enhance gross margin and improve inventory productivity.

KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Regularly evaluate item performance and make recommendations for re-orders, consolidations and return-to-vendors
  • Recommend and forecast initial quantity and allocations for key items
  • Partner with merchants and suppliers on inventory planning, inventory flow strategies, vendor requirements and capabilities and contingency planning
  • Create and update store clusters using the ranking template to effectively allocate product to the right stores
  • Responsible for forecasting product at the distributor and supplier level, and reconciling with the procurement team.
  • Create and recommend buy plans and allocations for initial purchases at the supplier and item level
  • Represent the area at various meetings, where they communicate key messages and be prepared to make input and recommendations as well as bring important information back to the department for action
  • To be the liaison with suppliers and distributors to resolve various discrepancies (i.e. : inventory, stock outs, price)
  • Create, review, analyze and provide recommendations on various reports to ensure supplier and distributor inventory compliance
  • Recommend and implement changes to improve systems (i.e. : solicitation process, etc).
  • Identify Discrepancies and Risk and work with distributors, suppliers and various stakeholders to correct and to minimize risk. Advise Director of potential issues.
  • Meeting and exceeding the minimum fill rate KPI requirements for the concept
  • Other duties as assigned
  • Present at meetings as required.
  • Constantly stay up-to-date about economic conditions and / or business situations as they affect the materials we use.
  • Be an expert in the key area assigned to this position

  • Experience in inventory coordination and distribution within the food industry.
  • Thorough knowledge of the supply base and knowledge of quality assurance philosophies, practices, and techniques are an asset.

  • EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE :

  • Community College Diploma or University Degree in Business or equivalent work experience
  • 3-5 years’ experience, in Supply Chain preferably in either food manufacturing or food service industry
  • Actively working towards one of the following : SCMP – Supply Chain Management Professional, APICS – The Association for Operations Management, CITT – Canadian Institute of Traffic and Transportation, P.Log – Professional Logistician designation
  • Experience with Inventory Management System
  • Proficient in word and excel applications and PowerBI
  • WORKING CONDITIONS :

  • Travel locally as required
  • Primarily in an open office environment, sitting for extended periods of time
