Position : Coordinator, Social Media (Emerging Platforms)

Department : Marketing

Reports To : Director, Social Media

POSITION SUMMARY :

As an integral member of Canucks Sports and Entertainment (CSE)'s social media team, the forward-thinking Coordinator will be responsible for identifying, strategizing, implementing, and analysing content on new and emerging social media platforms. The Social Media Coordinator, Emerging Platforms is expected to be innovative, curious, and organized to deliver compelling multi-platform marketing solutions, driving fan engagement and growth, while an emphasis on reaching new audiences.

This role will focus on :

  • Staying at the forefront of emerging social media platforms, trends, and technologies; identifying platforms with potential relevance to CSE's target audience and objectives
  • Strategizing and publishing on the Vancouver Canucks' emerging social media platforms, driving audience growth across TikTok, Snapchat, Threads, and YouTube, among others
  • Proactively engaging with fans, responding to comments, and fostering a positive and inclusive community atmosphere across Vancouver Canucks social accounts
  • Monitoring the performance of content on emerging platforms using relevant metrics and analytics tools; providing regular reports and insights to assess the effectiveness of strategies and identify areas for improvement
  • Continuously exploring new features and functionalities of emerging platforms, experimenting with creative formats and identifying best practices to stay ahead of the curve
  • Collaborating with the Content and Creative departments to create and optimize assets for emerging social media platforms
  • Working cross-functionally with colleagues in the Community, Corporate Partnerships, Ticketing, Retail, and People departments to support their business objectives across social media
  • Utilizing software such as Sprout Social, Adobe Creative Cloud, CapCut, and Slate, among others to edit and publish social media content and posts

  • YOU HAVE :

  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in a business or communications-related discipline
  • 2 years of experience in a social, content or digital marketing strategy role
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop and Premiere Pro
  • A thorough understanding social media best practices on emerging platforms
  • Excellent people and communications skills, with an ability to interact professionally and effectively with internal and external clients at all levels within an organization
  • The ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as needed
  • This is an onsite role at our office in downtown Vancouver
