DevOps Engineer
Location : Victoria, BC (On-site Position / No remote)
We are working with a leading game development company in Victoria that is looking for a talented DevOps Engineer to join their team. This company is focused on evolving and delivering an innovative metagame, with interactive gameplay features across multiple platforms. As a DevOps Engineer, you will play a key role in automating system and code deployments, maintaining infrastructure, and troubleshooting issues to ensure optimal performance. Your expertise will help deliver high-quality games that players will love.
Key Responsibilities :
Develop, maintain, and expand code testing, release, and deployment platforms.
Build and implement systems to monitor production environments and enforce best practices.
Oversee the health, efficiency, and scalability of the production infrastructure.
The ideal candidate will have :
1-3 years of relevant systems experience.
Familiarity with distributed systems, performance management, and delivering measurable results.
Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies and automation tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git).
Experience with Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or similar).
Experience working in a 24 / 7 environment, supporting live production systems.
Preferred qualifications include :
A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in a relevant field.
Experience working with relational databases and distributed computing technologies.
Hands-on experience with HA ElasticSearch, Redis, and MongoDB.
A strong commitment to operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Proficiency in programming and scripting languages.
Familiarity with Agile (Scrum / Kanban) methodologies.
Salary Range : $65,000 – $85,000 CAD annually
