Job Summary
The Officer, Environmental Program is responsible for supporting effective oversight and monitoring of regulatory compliance, operational efficiency, continuous improvement, and standardized procedures. The role ensures guidelines are followed for environmental compliance and preventative activities. The incumbent implements and administers the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) digital platform to support structured inspection, handles preventative maintenance and corrective actions for tanks, fuelling systems and wastewater equipment in accordance with applicable regulations, permits and due diligence requirements. Furthermore, the role implements, deploys, and administers other compliance requirements such as wastewater, stormwater, waste, construction management and other regulations, permit and policy compliance obligations in Enablon.
Main Responsibilities
- Support the management and administration of the EHS digital platform and Systems, Applications, and Products (SAP) to support structured inspection and preventative maintenance programs for tanks, fuelling systems and wastewater equipment in accordance with applicable regulations, permits, and due diligence requirements
- Support the management and administration of compliance requirements for wastewater, stormwater, waste, and other compliance needs in Enablon and SAP
- Support the management and compliance requirements for permits, policies, and conditions for capacity improvement and construction management
- Interface regularly with Enablon end users across multiple functions, environmental regional staff, and performance leads across the entire CN network
- Collaborate with the Environmental Performance team in the development and preparation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and training material for end users handling inspection and compliance obligation in Enablon
- Collaborate with the Environmental Performance team in providing or coordinating training for end users for the inspection and compliance management in Enablon
- Participate in data analysis and preparation of reports and dashboard for the development of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to support compliance requirements and measure environmental performance
- Support in identifying best practices, enhancements, and opportunities for improvement
- Collaborate with Information and Technology (I&T) on enhancements to support continuous improvement for all I&T systems (, Enablon, ENFOS)
- Support the management of other environmental digital platforms such as ENFOS
Working Conditions
The role is performed in a combination of office and outdoor environment in various types of weather conditions with a regular workweek from Monday to Friday. Due to the nature of the role, the incumbent must be able to meet tight deadlines, handle pressure, and stress. The role requires occasional travel (up to 30%) within Canada and the United States (

Experience
Environmental Data Management
Between 2 to 5 years of experience in environmental data management for compliance requirements and measurement of environmental performanceoExperience with the implementation, deployment, and administration of data management solutions
oExperience with environmental software implementation in an industrial or consulting environment
Education / Certification / Designation
