As we prepare for our upcoming land season from April 1- November 30  (seasonal position) ,w e are looking for agriculture equipment operators  for our land application team. They will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the tractor, dragline and pump equipment, ensuring that the biosolids application process runs smoothly.  If you are an individual who wants to make a difference in the environment and work in an atmosphere of joy, balance, respect, and responsibility, we want to hear from you!

About the Role

As an agricultural Equipment Operator, you will :

  • Run and maintain a dragline pump;
  • Operate tractors and utilize a dragline system to apply biosolids on agricultural fields ;
  • Performing basic preventative maintenance on all field-related equipment (greasing, oil changes, fluid top-ups);
  • Ensuring that work is done in a safe and efficient manner on spread sites;
  • Using GPS and iPad technology to spread materials evenly and consistently throughout the field;
  • Assisting the field operations team in site setup, tear down, and cleanup;
  • Understanding of the Nutrient Management Act and MOE guidelines and procedures as it relates to application of biosolids;
  • Willingness to participate in projects in other Wessuc divisions.

About You

  • 1-3 years of experience in the agriculture industry preferred;
  • Experience operating and maintaining tractors / heavy equipment is an asset;
  • Valid G or G2 license;
  • Safety certifications, such as Working at Heights and CPR are considered an asset;
  • IT literate, able to understand, record and manage data across different software platforms;
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, work may include 12+ hour days.
