An exciting opportunity has arisen as a Field Service Engineer – Control Systems. As a Field Service Engineer for Control Systems, you will be responsible for supporting automation and propulsion control systems delivered by Kongsberg Maritime.
Key Accountabilities :
Provide preventative and corrective maintenance to Kongsberg control systemRead and interpret drawings and controls system architectureUse of a multimeter / SW tools for troubleshooting communication or loop errorsUnderstanding of Power Management Systems, generators, and governor controlfunctionality for generators and main engines
AC / DC electrical motorsAble to add or modify control logicFamiliar with communication protocols (CAN, 232,422,485, TCP / IP, etc)Complete and submit timesheets and expenses in a timely fashionOwnership over assigned cases and / or service tripsSuggest improvements to our products and report needs to Service Manager or product departmentMake proactive suggestions to customers on available upgrades and new products while visiting onboardCarry out actions to prevent errors within our delivery and after sales deliveries
Support Aftermarket Sales with aftersales quotationsQualifications and Experience :
Degree in Electrical, Electronics, Electromechanical, or Computer Engineering or equivalent industry / military trainingKnowledge of general Electrical / Electronic control system concepts such as PIDcontrollers, filters, communication protocols.
Ability to produce and interpret technical documentationAbility to troubleshoot low voltage electrical components, use of multimeters, etc.Experience with PLC / SCADA systems and their architecture is highly desiredCustomer service orientedAbility to work under pressureGood communication skills and fluent in English (French a benefit)Hold valid PassportAuthorized to work lawfully in Canada and the US without company sponsorshipAvailability to travel with short notice, after hours, holidays / weekend, for long periods both locally and internationallyYou are able to :
