Our client, located in Markham, is an exciting & dynamic utilities company and looking for a Payroll Specialist to join their team.
Responsibilities
Reporting to a Manager, People Operations the Payroll Specialist will be responsible for but not limited to :
- Process payroll for salaried employees on a bi-weekly, semi-monthly, and monthly basis. Employees are based in both Canada and the United States of America.
- Process payroll for hourly employees based on time cards
- Process journal entries for corresponding pay periods
- Prepare supporting documentation for quarterly audits
- Ensure all transactions of payroll, pension, and benefits are accurate entered
- Maintain and create appropriate payroll documentation outlining processes and procedures
- Ensure compliance with respect to the appropriate tax laws as well as internal controls
- Other ad hoc duties as required
Qualifications
Minimum 3+ years of payroll processing experienceUS payroll processing experience is requiredAbility to prioritize, multi-task, and maintain attention to detail in an environment requiring flexibility and adaptabilityStrong written and verbal communication skillsPCP or PLP designatedProficient with ADP or CeridianAI may be used to support certain administrative aspects of our recruitment process.
