Our Family Office service team is growing, and we are looking to hire a Senior Manager to deliver high-touch service to multi-family office clients. The successful candidate will act as a financial quarterback to clients and their families and will be responsible for managing the daily accounting / financial activities for multiple client entities, strategic reporting, and financial modelling.
The role supports the Family Office team in the overall productivity and effectiveness of the practice and fosters close working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. The incumbent will work collaboratively with Partners / senior leaders across service lines, business units, accounts and marketing, finance, IT, HR, the executive team and external service providers.
The successful candidate will have a strategic mindset, attention to detail, an entrepreneurial spirit, a high bar for client service excellence, and a passion for working with successful business families / entrepreneurs in Canada. The individual will possess a strong understanding of professional services practices, multi-disciplined service lines, and client relationship management skills.
What You Will Do
- Act as a controller to clients and maintain a consolidated view of their financial / investment picture; provide strategic advice on cash flow management, financial performance and forecasting
- Coordinate accounting, bookkeeping, investment reporting activities and oversee the finance / accounting team’s activities
- Serve as the key liaison for the client and hold regular status update meetings with the Lead Family Office Relationship Manager, Lead Partner and Family Office Leader
- Conduct financial reconciliation, accuracy checks and maintain understanding of complex financial structures (investment companies, brokerage / bank accounts, credit and lending structures, trusts, partnerships, estate planning)
- Prepare customized reporting including financial modelling and KPI reports using Family Office technology and other tools
- Maintain client documents management system and related technology platforms
- Coordinate financial activities with external / internal advisors (bankers, accountants, lawyers) including investment activities, capital calls, and analysis of pro forma information
- Work with the Wealth Strategy leader to advise on optimizing cash flow and overall structure
- Maintain understanding of investments and fiscal, legal and accounting implications
- Act as project manager for Multi-Family or Single-Family Office engagements, coordinating client-related moving parts and ensuring timely responses and delivery
- Support the Lead Relationship Manager and Family Office Leader with proposal processes
- Assist in maintaining client prospect lists, pipeline reports and other business development / leadership update reports
What You Bring To The Role
Bachelor's or master’s degree in Commerce, Finance or Accounting; CPA - CGA is an asset7+ years client-facing / relationship management experience with a focus on financial analysis, accounting and bookkeeping or wealth strategyPrior audit, tax or financial controller experience is an assetExperience with Family Office or professional services in a similar role is an assetAbility to synthesize large quantities of complex data into meaningful client insightsAbility to communicate effectively with senior-level business partnersStrong business judgment, analytical and decision-making skillsKnowledge of financial reporting and data mining tools (e.g., SQL, Access)Proficiency in Excel, Word and PowerPointStrong interpersonal / facilitation and client relationship management skillsEagerness to learn and help grow the practiceFamiliarity with KPMG service lines and a network within professional services is an assetAbility to work strategically and collaboratively across functions / groupsAction-oriented and adaptableAbout KPMG

Pay Range
The expected base salary range for this position is $102,500–$200,000 and may be eligible for bonus awards. Base salary is determined by location, skills / competencies, and qualifications. KPMG offers a comprehensive Total Rewards program.
