Job descriptionStrong understanding of commercial construction processes Proficiency in using construction cost estimating software Skilled in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications Strong knowledge of drywall materials and construction methods Knowledge of On-Screen Takeoff and QuickBid software Effective and professional communication and interpersonal skills Strong attention to detail and excellent analytical abilities Self-motivated and driven to excel 5+ years’ experience in commercial drywall estimating required Post-secondary degree or diploma in construction management, engineering, or a related field is an asset. Experience with construction cost estimating software such as On-Screen Takeoff or QuickBid is an asset Markham, ON
Responsibilities :
- Foster lasting connections with clients, general contractors, and suppliers, enhancing collaboration and project success.
- Represent the organization in pre-bid meetings and negotiations with confidence and collaboration, showcasing expertise and building trust with prospective clients.
- Develop precise and comprehensive cost estimates for commercial drywall projects, ensuring each bid is competitive and accurate.
- Use estimation software tools such as On-Screen Takeoff and QuickBid to streamline the estimation process and enhance accuracy.
- Comprehensively review project plans and specifications to fully understand the work scope and uncover opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
- Engage with suppliers to secure the best pricing, explore alternative solutions, and optimize project budgets.
- Build strong relationships with clients, negotiating bids and providing proactive follow-up to ensure satisfaction and alignment.
- Craft detailed bid documents, including thorough cost breakdowns and summaries of subcontractor and supplier contributions.
- Identify and strategize around potential risks and cost-saving opportunities to improve project outcomes.
- Keep cost data current and competitive by regularly reviewing and updating standard rates and information.
