Job Summary

As a Technical Solutions Application Specialist, you bring entrepreneurial spirit and play a lead role in developing and delivering solutions to MRO customers. You understand our customers’ businesses and can present personalized solutions that solve their greatest challenges. You are a key contributor to designing highly reliable, safe, and innovative solutions alongside Technical Services, Shops, and Distribution teams.

Accountabilities

• Take ownership of complex projects from concept to completion.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and vendors to develop and deliver solutions.
• Write and present technical proposals to customers.
• Provide support and expertise during project commissioning and the aftermarket.
• Offer internal and external consultation on projects.
• Support in‑house and field training of the distribution team; deliver product & application presentations internally and externally.
• Stay abreast of the latest technologies and identify opportunities to enhance Applied’s product and service offerings.
• Participate in sales planning with Distribution; develop sales targets and recommend pricing and gross margin.
• Contribute to building team strengths, capabilities, and efficient processes.
• Join sales team on customer site visits to identify pain points, troubleshoot equipment, recommend solutions, gather application data, and take measurements.
• Identify DVA opportunities within projects or proposed solutions and present added value to customers.
• Perform quality control of MTO machined components, drawings, or assembled products to verify accuracy.
• Evaluate risks associated with incoming inquiries and design changes.
• Develop and maintain a standardized Technical Project Proposal document with all relevant data, references, and the Applied Value Proposition.
