Job Summary
Reporting to the Account Director, the Strategic / Key Account Manager will work closely with an assigned customer to develop long-term business relationships and execute on strategic business priorities.
They will be responsible for driving a positive customer experience by acting as a principal contact for regional customer leads, and leading cross-functional teams to align internal priorities with external initiatives that further develop our strategic partnership and ensure business continuity.
The Strategic Account Manager will be responsible for achieving sales and business objective targets, while identifying and implementing new opportunities to drive growth & collaboration across varying levels of the organization and assigned customer.
Specific Responsibilities
Supports and maintains a formal account plan and ensures alignment on priorities between customer and McKesson through regular joint business meetings and compliance to contractual commitments.
Serves as the subject matter expert for their assigned customer, maintaining full knowledge of account requirement and needs.
Measures, analyzes, and assesses key performance metrics to drive growth, support customer development and strengthen partnerships.
Thrives in a fast-paced environment managing both proactive initiatives and reactive events on overlapping timelines. Provides creative solutions to complex issues, leading & contributing to stakeholder and customer alignment.
Champions and aligns McKesson cross-functional resources & stakeholders to identify opportunities and align on solutions that support the delivery of the joint business plan.
Interacts with varying levels of management to gain alignment and build impactful working relationships.
Understands and promotes McKesson’s full line of products and services solutions to identify novel business and partnership opportunities.
Understand, evaluate, and interpret data to accurately summarize information and provide valuable insights to customer.
Review all program documentation prior to release to the client.
Monitor performance against service level agreements and develop plan for corrective action.
Ensure accurate and timely delivery of reports.
Responsible for defining scope of projects with client and providing to internal teams.
Ensure proper storage of program materials for audit readiness; support internal and external audits.
Provide inputs to program invoices and / or approve invoices.
Maintain customer budgets and monitor program profitability against plan.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience
MBA (asset)
5+ years of professional experience, pharmaceutical or CPG (Consumer Packaged Goods) experience (asset)
2+ years of progressive management / supervisory experience (asset)
Ability to travel 10-15%.
