Job Summary:
The Cook Chill Food Production Center is located on the grounds of the Maplehurst Correctional Facility; however, Cook Chill operates as an independent production facility and is separate from Maplehurst Corrections. There are no inmates on site at any time. Civeo Premium associates do not have any interaction with, nor access to, inmates.
We are seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee daily production operations across hot, cold, and bulk food areas. In this role, you will ensure the efficient assembly of trays and bulk food items while upholding strict food quality and safety standards. Working closely with the Production Manager, you will help maintain adequate product availability to support continuous production flow, coordinate workflows, enforce operational procedures, and foster a safe, productive work environment through effective supervision and teamwork.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily assembly‑area operations by managing workflow, staffing, and production priorities.
Monitor production performance to ensure lines run efficiently and meet output and quality targets.
Track progress against schedules and standards, reporting issues promptly to the manager.
Support the Production Manager with productivity tracking and labour‑cost goals.
Maintain strict compliance with HACCP and Quality Control requirements, completing all audits and documentation accurately.
Train and support staff to ensure competency in SOPs, GMPs, equipment use, and Health & Safety practices.
Promote a safe workplace by enforcing safe work practices, PPE use, and proper incident reporting.
Assist with scheduling, attendance monitoring, performance management, and coaching.
Ensure high standards of sanitation and housekeeping throughout the production area.
Ensure compliance with legislation and regulatory standards including HACCP, WHMIS, and Health & Safety.
Apply Ministry of Correctional Services procedures consistently.
Participate in training, meetings, and improvement initiatives.
Step in to cover Production Manager responsibilities when needed.
Perform duties in alignment with company standards, policies, and Ministry agreements.
Complete additional production tasks as assigned.
Qualifications
Post‑secondary education in Food and Nutrition or related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
3-5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment.
Advanced Food Safety Training is required
Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, WHMIS including legislative and workplace health & safety regulations.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Demonstrated labour relations experience in a unionized setting.
Capable of working in all areas of production and adapting to varying operational demands.
Proven ability to lead teams, delegate tasks, and motivate line staff in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong organizational and time‑management abilities with a focus on meeting production targets and deadlines.
Effective English written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with cross‑functional teams
Demonstrated ability to maintain high standards of quality, safety, and sanitation.
Demonstrated flexibility and adaptability in managing changing priorities and work routines.
Ability to work within a secure, regulated, and operationally complex environment.
Successful completion of drug and alcohol screening, vulnerable sector check, criminal record check, and any other required security clearances.
