Job description

We are seeking a Technical Sales Representative for a client – a leading global provider of cutting-edge solutions for microbiology and clinical diagnostics. The Technical Sales Representative will leverage their clinical microbiology expertise and sales acumen to drive business growth in the healthcare and laboratory diagnostics sector. The ideal candidate will work remotely, visiting clients, attending trade shows, and occasionally traveling internationally to represent the company. This role combines technical knowledge, customer relationship management, and strategic marketing efforts to support company objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop business opportunities within Canadian healthcare markets, targeting hospitals, clinics, and diagnostic labs
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers to ensure customer satisfaction and loyalty
  • Utilize clinical microbiology expertise to understand client needs and provide tailored technical solutions
  • Deliver in-depth product training and demonstrations to healthcare professionals
  • Conduct client visits or virtual meetings to strengthen relationships and maintain visibility
  • Represent the company at trade shows approximately quarterly, ensuring visibility and engagement
  • Support marketing efforts through social media campaigns and trade show promotions to enhance the company’s presence
  • Prepare sales reports during monthly visits to the head office and collaborate with the admin team
  • Manage customer data and track sales pipelines using CRM tools
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams to align sales strategies with overall business goals
  • Travel within Canada (Ontario, Alberta and BC) and occasionally to the US or UK for client meetings, product updates, and team-building activities

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences
  • 2-3 years of sales experience
  • 3+ years of clinical microbiology experience
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for relationship building
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Self-motivated with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strategic mindset for market analysis and competitor research
  • Ability to travel across Canada and internationally as needed
  • French language skills are an asset but not required
