About the role
As a Job Developer you’ll provide individualized services to employers and clients, helping them achieve Labour Market Attachment. You’ll direct support to job matching, refer to, and negotiate with employers for new job opportunities tailored to each client’s skills, needs, and abilities. Services are delivered in Employment Ontario and on‑site at employer locations, and may include post‑employer follow‑up for clients requiring intensive support.
What you’ll do
- Determine eligibility and provide assessment services to identify need for Job Development Services.
- Develop a client plan detailing activities and follow‑up required for participation.
- Create opportunities for employment by proactively marketing clients to employers, including volunteer, part‑time and full‑time placements, job shadowing, informational interviews, and work experience placements.
- Provide wage‑subsidy services, negotiating job terms with clients and employers.
- Stay attuned to local employment venues and market needs, marketing Employment Ontario services on behalf of the centre.
- Assist in promoting centre services to potential employers and assist in assessing employer hiring needs.
- Attend local Job Fairs, employer networking events, chamber of commerce functions, and trade shows.
- Represent the centre in arranging and facilitating job fairs, providing referrals to assist client and employer hiring needs.
- Participate in hosting community and employer events.
Qualifications
What you bring
Experience conducting client needs assessments, coaching and mentoring clients with complex barriers, and building partnerships with employers and community stakeholders.Experience marketing clients, including specialized populations, to employers.Strong ability to market centre services to potential employers and employer forums.Innovative problem‑solving to meet client employment placement needs.Experience assessing employer and client needs to make effective job matches.Digital literacy, including Microsoft Office Suite.Understanding of confidentiality and professional codes; criminal record check will be required.Availability to work outside regular business hours, including evenings and weekends.Preferred Criteria
Post‑secondary certificate, degree, or diploma in a relevant field (e.g., career or employment development, vocational rehabilitation, social work, psychology, sociology, human services, counselling, education, human resources).CCDP certification preferred.Proficiency in French and / or other languages.Comfort using social media.Valid Class 5 or 7 license and vehicle.Additional Information
