What is the role?
Your primary responsibilities will include the following :
- Review financial statements and corresponding tax returns (corporate and sales tax) for select clients
- Assist Senior Managers with preparation for tax planning meetings (quarterly and annually) with clients and identify tax-planning opportunities
- Mentoring and managing our awesome team of Associates and Senior Associates
- Accounting and tax research / analysis
- Manage various Canada Revenue Agency requests
Required
- You have excellent communication skills (both written and verbal)
- Hyper-organized
- Social, presentable and well spoken - we want our clients to love you!
- You are independent, highly motivated and a self-starter
- You are a multi-tasker and can manage multiple clients simultaneously
- Strong work ethic
- Tech savvy
Other Skills and Requirements
- A love for technology and the ability to learn new software / apps quickly
- Canadian CPA designation with at least 5+ years of work experience at a small or mid-sized accounting firm with a focus on owner-managed businesses
- An excellent understanding of corporate tax, sales tax and financial statements
- Previously managed a team of associates with varying levels of experience
- Knowledge of online accounting software and apps is an asset (Xero, QBO, Wagepoint, Dext, Hubdoc)
- Strong internet connection - at least 6MBPS upload and 6MBPS download speeds
