Job description

Title - Dispatcher

Location - Lachine

Industry - Transport & Warehousing

Seeking two talented individuals who are passionate about the trucking industry, must have French & English communication skills to be able to communicate with drivers and customers daily.

As a Dispatcher, you will be responsible for coordinating and ensuring the timely and efficient movement of goods, managing driver schedules, and communicating with both drivers and customers. Strong communication skills and a keen eye for detail are essential.

Two shifts available :

  • Mon - Fri 10 : 00 PM - 6 : 30 AM
  • Mon - Fri 8 : 00 PM - 4 : 30 AM

    • Responsibilities

  • Dispatch drivers to various locations based on transportation requirements.
  • Ensure the efficient scheduling and coordination of shipments.
  • Communicate with drivers to provide updates, changes, and route adjustments.
  • Monitor the progress of deliveries to ensure on-time performance.
  • Address and resolve any operational issues or delays as they arise.
  • Maintain accurate records of driver activities and delivery statuses.
  • Provide timely updates to customers regarding delivery schedules.

    • Handle incoming calls and emails from drivers and customers.

    Ensure compliance with transportation regulations and safety standards.

    Assist in troubleshooting and problem-solving to prevent delays.

    Qualifications

  • English and French (verbal & written) required
  • High school diploma or equivalent; a certificate or diploma in business, business administration, transportation
  • Previous experience in dispatch or transportation is an asset
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
