The Regina Correctional Centre is seeking a full-time highly motivated Program Facilitator for a 9-month term position, with possibility of extension to facilitate cognitive-behavioural programs at the Regina Correctional Centre. As the successful candidate, your duties will include supporting the Senior Program Facilitator in the effective delivery of programming and mentorship to Correctional Officers to promote and develop integrated case management with effective strategies.
Under the supervision of the Senior Program Facilitator, the successful candidate will plan, implement, deliver and maintain evidence-based rehabilitative core correctional programs which may include but are not limited to Thinking for a Change, Living Without Violence, Decision Points, Stopping Abuse for Everyone (SAFE), domestic violence programming and generalized programming while using effective correctional intervention principles, primarily using Cognitive Behavioural Theory, and relapse prevention approaches as the basis of program delivery.
As a motivated professional, you will provide leadership and direction to staff and volunteers while working independently and with a team. Execution of those duties will depend on your communication and interpersonal skills and proven ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with your colleagues, inmates, community and other stakeholders within a Correctional Centre environment.
To be considered for this position, you will have knowledge of the Correctional Services Act and Regulations, Corrections key challenges and strategies, and provincial and local policy. You will have comprehensive knowledge and demonstrated skills in risk assessments, case management, institutional programming, community resources and effective correctional interventions.
The ideal candidate would typically have practical experience delivering programming and methodologies of assessing and providing specialized Cognitive Behaviour Programming. Preference will be given to those who are certified to facilitate core correctional programs including Stopping Abuse for Everyone (SAFE) and have experience working in an institutional Correctional Centre setting.
