Job description

YOUR MISSION

The VP of Engineering is a member of the executive team and will provide leadership and strategic vision for the engineering organization, with the objective to scale the company’s Sensor Fusion and Perception Software solutions for ADAS and AD and to gain significant market share.The VP of Software Engineering will oversee all aspects of software engineering, including growth strategy, budget planning and monitoring, managing globally distributed teams with optimal resources allocation in programs and projects. He / she will work closely with other leaders of Product Strategy and Business Development, CTO, Quality, Sales, HR, Legal, Marketing and Finance departments to identify critical issues and remove roadblocks to achieve company goals. He / she will be responsible for the engineering organizational structure and evaluate team performance, while providing coaching to continuously improve the success and effectiveness of his / her teams. The VP of Engineering will play an active role in corporate development, M&A and other strategic growth initiatives, with the goal to position LeddarTech as an industry leader in the field of automotive ADAS / AD software. Key responsibilities :
  • Set the vision for executing and delivering the next generation AI based software offering and deliver software embedded products and solutions that drive customer satisfaction and outstanding business results
  • Collaborate with the Product Strategy and Business Development team to develop a comprehensive product roadmap strategy and execution. Orchestrate collaboration between Product Strategy, Engineering, Quality and Operations teams to ensure that software releases are delivered on-time and on specification
  • Build, high-performing cross-functional teams, including ALGO/AI, Software Embedded, System Engineering, Data collection and Data engineering, DevOps, V&V, and Application support teams.
  • Plan and implement processes for the design, testing and launch of new software products and features based on ASPICE process model
  • Implement effective KPIs to measure operational efficiency and effectiveness of internal and external processes
  • Continuously improve operational processes to optimize products, engineering, documentation, and prioritize critical investment areas
  • Ensure success of products and projects by constantly monitoring execution, anticipate issues, mobilize the teams responsible for delivery, manage existing resources and shift priorities when needed
  • Identify, document, and effectively mitigate company-wide engineering execution risks
  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, strategic partners, and external service providers
  • Provide support to global OEMs, Tier-1/2 customers and strategic partners including meeting with key client executives and operational leaders to coordinate, negotiate and execute partnership agreements
  • Communicate and align strategy with key internal and external stakeholders (Board of Directors, Investors and Strategic Partners)
  • Build an efficient, agile engineering development, implementation and continuously improving engineering culture that delivers on-time and on-budget
  • Stay abreast of trends in the automotive industry
The ideal candidate to fill this position will have The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in all aspects of software-as-a-product delivery and operation model, including real-time software systems, cloud infrastructure management, application management, business operations management and as well as the integration of Product Engineering and Delivery processes. The ideal candidate has proven experience in the automotive industry, with comprehensive understanding of industry standards, and with successful track record of software product launches with Automotive OEM and Tier1. He / she has a track record in delivering winning software products and has a passion for efficient engineering execution to maximize customer experience and success.
  • Master’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Management Information Systems and/or equivalent work experience. MBA or Masters in a technical field is a plus
  • 15+ years of experience in software product operations, software product strategy, software product management, or an operational role, with a track record of successfully delivering compelling software products and solutions to large, global automotive customers
  • Experience working in highly regulated industries and sectors
  • Experience implementing SLA /KPIs in high-growth organizations and managing software license agreements
  • Proficient in SDLC stages: requirements, design, architecture, development, testing, release management, UAT, deployment, hyper care, and operations
  • Experience in Agile methodology and DevOps
  • Business acumen and strategic thinking ability, with a continuous improvement mindset
  • Empowering, inspiring, and engaging hands-on leader, with experience building, coaching, and mentoring high-performing teams
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, adaptable, has tolerance to risk and the ability to work in fast-paced high-growth environments, where continuous innovation is a way of life. Knowledge of next-generation AI technologies and software in the automotive industry is an asset
  • Available to travel up to 40% globally.
