Certified Utility Arborists / Utility Tree Timmer – Manitoba

Wright Tree Services is seeking multiple qualified CUA in various locations within Manitoba. These are permanent, full-time positions with highly competitive salaries, benefit packages, as well as an employee ownership plan.

Responsibilities (but not limited to) :

Assign, instruct, and direct tree trimmers, equipment operators and groundworkers

Trim and / or removes trees by climbing with the aid of a ladder, safety belt, climbing line, powered trimmer lift truck, or work from the ground using saws / pruners

Removal or trimming of trees and brush encroaching onto utility or transportation rights of ways

Assume responsibility for the inspection and proper working conditions of tools, trucks, and other work equipment

Ensure on-the-job safety practices are followed by all crew members

Perform other job-related tasks as required or assigned

Requirements :

Certified Utility Arborist (CUA or UA) or Utility Tree Trimmer(UTT)

Basic knowledge of trees, including identification, growth habits and correct arboriculture techniques for trimming, pruning, repairing, maintaining and removing

Adheres to safety requirements and ensures crew members are working safely

Ability to lift, move and maneuver up to 50 pounds on an infrequent basis and up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis

Ability to withstand exposure to all kinds of weather and environmental conditions

Valid drivers’ license

Travel and remote working within the province of Manitoba

Must adhere to Wright Tree Service of Canada’s “Employee / Contractor Smoking, Alcohol and Drug Policy Minimum Requirements” handbook
