Role Description

As a Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in delivering patient-centered care, particularly to Veterans and First Responders. Your ability to assess, diagnose, and create personalized treatment plans will help foster long-term recovery and improve the quality of life for patients. You will work remotely, providing virtual consultations while collaborating with the team to ensure patients receive the best possible care.

Responsibilities

  • Patient Consultations : Conduct virtual patient assessments, including thorough medical histories, diagnoses, and treatment recommendations.
  • Individualized Treatment Plans : Create and manage personalized treatment plans tailored to each patient’s unique needs, addressing physical, mental, and emotional health.
  • Health Education : Educate patients on nutrition, exercise, stress management, and lifestyle adjustments to promote long-term well-being.
  • Collaboration and Referrals : Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care. Refer patients to specialists or conventional practitioners when needed.
  • Documentation : Maintain accurate patient records, manage administrative tasks, and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Research and Continuing Education : Stay informed on the latest medical advancements and evidence-based practices to provide top-quality care.
  • Medical Cannabis Prescriptions : Assess and prescribe medical cannabis when appropriate, following regulatory and medical guidelines.
  • VAC Expertise : Assist Veterans with necessary documentation for Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC) and liaise with relevant stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

  • Licensed Nurse Practitioner (Quebec, Canada)
  • Bilingual proficiency in French and English is mandatory
  • Comfortable working independently and remotely with patients
  • Strong technical proficiency, including experience with G-Suites and Microsoft 365
  • Experience with InputHealth or similar healthcare management systems is an asset
  • Prior experience working with Veterans and familiarity with VAC processes is highly valued
  • Previous medical cannabis prescribing experience is an asset
  • In return, our client is offering :

  • Hourly rate : Starting at CAD $60 per hour, with the absolute top of the budget being CAD $100 per hour, particularly for candidates with prior medical cannabis prescribing experience
