The Ministry of Health’s Intergovernmental, Indigenous Relation and Health Emergency Management Unit is seeking a highly motivated, results-orientated individual to join our team as a Policy and Program Consultant .

In this role, you will contribute to provincial direction in broader policy and program initiatives.

Reporting to the Director, your responsibilities will include :

  • Working with colleagues in the Ministry, Saskatchewan Health Authority, health organizations, and other provincial government ministries, agencies, Crown Corporations and the federal government in supporting priority work of the Ministry;
  • Analyzing complex health program and policy issues, for the Saskatchewan's health care system; and,
  • Developing recommendations for addressing key policy and program issues to a wide range of individuals, groups, and organizations.

The successful candidate will have :

  • Knowledge of policy / program / project management methods, principles and processes;
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, enabling efficient information synthesis and timely decision-making; and
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills both verbal and written to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with a wide range of individuals, groups, and organizations.
  • Typically, the knowledge and skills required for this position would be obtained through a Bachelor’s degree in a social science, health administration or a related discipline, along with experience in public policy development.

    Please note that this position requires participation in a shared on-call rotation with respect to health emergency management and may require some travel within the province.
