Job Title: Workplace Language Coach
Location: St. Johns, NL
Position Type: 1full-time positionuntil March 31, 2026, with possibility of extension pending budget availability and satisfactory performance

Reporting totheManager of Employment Readiness Centre, theWorkplace Language Coachwilldeliver group and individual training in digital literacy, covering essential tools such as Microsoft Office, online communication platforms, social media, video editing, AI basics, and professional online presence.The incumbent willsupportemployment-focused language learning,createengaging lesson plans, andfacilitateinteractive workshops for diverse newcomer clients. The position willalsomonitorparticipant progress,providefeedback, andmaintainaccuraterecords to support reporting and confidentiality requirements.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Deliver group training inDigital Literacy, including:
- Microsoft Office basics (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Online communication tools
- Video editing fundamentals
- Safe and ethical use ofAI tools
- LinkedIn profile development and online professionalism
- Deliver on-site language coaching to newcomers to improve job-specific communication skills and integration into the workforce
- Support clients with individualdigital-skillsneedsasrequired
- Teach employment-focused language sessions aligned with client goals
- Create engaging lesson plans, learning activities, and training materials
- Facilitate interactive workshops for diverse newcomer groups
- Monitor client progress and provide constructive feedback
- Buildstrong communicationchannels with ANC divisions, including Settlement, Employer Engagement, and other internal teams
- Support outreach and collaboration with high schools, community partners, and employers
- Participate inERCprogram development, planning, and team initiatives
- Maintainaccurateattendance, progress notes, and confidentiality records
- Contribute to program reporting and documentation requirements
- Participate in staff meetings,trainings, and professional development
- Other duties asrequired
Qualifications and Experience:
- Post-secondary education in IT, Education, Linguistics, Adult Learning, or related fields
- Experience teaching, coaching, orfacilitatinggroup training
- Strong IT skills and confidence in teaching digital tools
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with diverse cultural backgrounds
- Ability to plan, organize, and deliver training independently
- Commitment to confidentiality, professionalism, and client-centered support
- Ability to speakadditionallanguages an asset (Arabic, Persian, Dari, etc.)
Conditions of Employment:
- Legal authorization to work in Canada
- Flexible to work outside of core hours (Monday-Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm)
- Valid class 5 NL drivers license and daily access to apersonalvehicleisrequired
- Ability totravelisrequired
- Position is subject to a satisfactory Criminal Record Screening and Vulnerable Sector Check from the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary
- Valid First Aid Certificate is an asset
