In today's industry of rapidly growing digital services, user experience (UX) design has become an increasingly important role focused on creating digital experiences that fulfill business goals. This role leans on learnings from psychology, design, and technology to understand user behavior and create exceptional digital experiences that keep users engaged and motivated.
This full-time 12-month contract Digital User Experience Designer will be responsible for helping develop and shape our client's digital services. The position will enhance existing features and create new ones to deliver outstanding digital experiences that match the organization's value proposition.
Contract Length : February 23, 2026 - February 22, 2027.
Compensation & Transparency
In accordance with Ontario's 2026 employment standards :
- Salary Range : $35-55 per hour (commensurate with experience).

Key Duties & Responsibilities :
Primary accountability is to design exceptional user experiences for customer-facing digital services, including mobile and online banking and the corporate website.Collaborate alongside Digital Banking, Business Analysts, and Development teams.Optimize execution across a continuously evolving set of devices using design thinking, user-centered design, and UX best practices.Manage or collaborate on all phases of the design process including user research, conceptual design, UX flows, wireframes, graphic / interface design, interactive prototypes, and usability testing.Collaborate closely with cross-functional team members, partners, and vendors to meet release schedules.Clearly articulate design rationale to various stakeholders and collect data to inform improvements via research, surveys, and focus testing.Provide creative direction to staff and outside suppliers (e.g., digital agencies).Knowledge, Skills and Attributes
Education & Experience :
A University degree in design or a design-related discipline (industrial design, user-centred design, visual design, design strategy, psychology, etc.).3 - 4 years of experience in user experience design.UX design experience within financial services or ecommerce is considered an asset.Requirements :
Proficiency with current design and prototyping tools such as Adobe XD, Illustrator, and InVision.Basic HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript skills.A portfolio consisting of visually engaging experiences displaying UX design best practices, specifically mobile-first and responsive designs.Deep understanding of UX fundamentals, design principles, and research methodologies.Ability to translate conceptual ideas into compelling user experiences and create effective wireframes / flow diagrams.Superior design skills coupled with highly developed interpersonal and problem-solving skills.Ability to work independently and prioritize work to meet project timelines.What's In It For You?
