Emergency Response / Security LeadNear Kamloops, BC (site)Schedule : 10 days on / 4 days offIntroductionReporting to the HSE Manager, the Emergency Response / Security Lead will play a key role in supporting construction-related activities by overseeing security operations, developing emergency plans, and ensuring the safety and well-being of personnel, assets, and facilities. This position is located at the project site, working on a rotational schedule.ResponsibilitiesSecurity Management : Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures.Coordinate security operations to ensure effectiveness and efficiency.Lead and supervise a team of security officers, providing training and guidance.Conduct regular security audits to identify potential vulnerabilities.Manage recruitment, training, and performance of security staff.Maintain working knowledge of security and guard orders, ensuring compliance with directives.Communicate and collaborate with departments to ensure the safety of employees and facilities.Prepare reports on security incidents and ensure equipment is operational.Act as a liaison with law enforcement and other relevant authorities.Emergency Response : Prepare and implement emergency plans and procedures for natural or human-made incidents.Direct disaster response or crisis management activities, including evacuations and shelter management.Inspect facilities and emergency equipment to ensure readiness.Lead and train the emergency response team to ensure preparedness.Conduct drills and simulations to improve readiness and response times.Respond immediately to emergencies, providing leadership and coordination.Collaborate with public safety officials, government agencies, or utilities during emergencies.Maintain detailed records and reports for incident reviews and response improvement.Communicate with the public or media about emergency preparedness and incidents as required.RequirementsEducation and Certifications : High school diploma required; further education in security administration or a related field is an asset.Certification in First Aid, CPR, and other emergency response areas preferred.Associate or bachelor’s degree in emergency management, public safety, or a related field is an advantage.Experience : 5–10 years of experience in emergency response and / or security roles.Experience in a remote construction or operational setting with rotational schedules is preferred.Proven ability to lead and manage teams in emergency situations.Familiarity with federal and provincial legislation related to health, safety, and security.Skills and Competencies : Strong leadership and decision-making abilities under pressure.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with teams and external agencies.Proficiency in security systems and technologies, including CCTV and access control systems.Keen observation and risk assessment skills to identify and mitigate threats.Resilience and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.Proficient in Microsoft Office and data management software.Valid driver’s license with a clean driving abstract.Physically fit and capable of handling emergency response demands.What We OfferWhy work with Brunel?
