Accounting Manager

I’m looking for a Senior Accountant to step into a newly created role, offering you the opportunity to contribute to both day-to-day accounting and strategic financial analysis. Reporting directly to the Controller and collaborating with a dynamic team of 8, this role offers a perfect balance of operational and strategic responsibilities, and opportunities to grow within!

Please note : this position requires you to be in Ontario and in the local area, as this is an on-site position.

Responsibilities :

Manage journal entries and month-end / year-end procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Prepare detailed financial reports, including weekly Service Division Manager updates and safety training metrics.

Assist with updating and tracking annual and quarterly budgets and forecasts.

Oversee tax filings and government remittances, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.

Complete monthly account and bank reconciliations, ensuring financial accuracy.

Monitor expenses and overheads, providing insights into cost management and variances.

Work with the Regional Controller on fleet management and AR.

Review hourly payroll processed by the Payroll Administrator and manage salary payroll for the region.

Process EFTs and manage banking files to ensure smooth operations.

Assist with financial or operational requests and ad hoc financial analysis.

Mentor administrative staff, fostering a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications : CPA is a MUST

Progressive candidate with 5 years of experience

Construction experience an asset
