Job description

Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS) - Commodities Trading - up to 150k CAD + Bonus & package - Toronto

Cititec Talent has partnered with a leading global commodities firm seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer, with an AWS focus, who can leverage their expertise to build and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient cloud infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Architect and manage cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance for commodities trading platforms.
  • Implement automation for provisioning, configuration, and deployment of cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
  • Design, implement, and optimize CI / CD workflows to accelerate software delivery while adhering to regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with trading teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of trading applications into the production environment.
  • Monitor system performance, diagnose issues and apply corrective measures to maintain efficient operations.
  • Stay informed on the latest developments in AWS technologies and best practices relevant to the commodities trading sector.
  • Contribute to refining internal DevOps standards and ensure consistency in operational practices.

Desirable Skills :

  • Experience ideally in a trading environment or financial services firm
  • Experience with containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with serverless computing platforms like AWS Lambda.
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell.
  • Experience with monitoring and observability tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic.
  • Knowledge of commodities trading systems and relevant data integration.
  • Required Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
  • AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification
  • Proven experience in architecting and managing AWS infrastructure, ideally within financial services or commodities trading
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming
  • Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for infrastructure management
  • Practical knowledge of CI / CD systems such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.
  • Understanding of networking, security protocols, and compliance standards specific to the financial services industry.
