Job description

Lead DevOps Engineer (AWS) - Commodities Trading - up to 150k CAD + Bonus & package - Toronto

Cititec Talent has partnered with a leading global commodities firm seeking a Lead DevOps Engineer, with an AWS focus, who can leverage their expertise to build and maintain robust, scalable, and efficient cloud infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities :

Architect and manage cloud infrastructure solutions on AWS, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance for commodities trading platforms.
Implement automation for provisioning, configuration, and deployment of cloud infrastructure using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
Design, implement, and optimize CI / CD workflows to accelerate software delivery while adhering to regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with trading teams to ensure smooth deployment and integration of trading applications into the production environment.
Monitor system performance, diagnose issues and apply corrective measures to maintain efficient operations.
Stay informed on the latest developments in AWS technologies and best practices relevant to the commodities trading sector.
Contribute to refining internal DevOps standards and ensure consistency in operational practices.

Desirable Skills :

Experience ideally in a trading environment or financial services firm

Experience with containerization platforms such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with serverless computing platforms like AWS Lambda.

Proficiency in scripting languages like Bash or PowerShell.

Experience with monitoring and observability tools like CloudWatch, Datadog, or New Relic.

Knowledge of commodities trading systems and relevant data integration.

Required Qualifications :

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline

AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional certification

Proven experience in architecting and managing AWS infrastructure, ideally within financial services or commodities trading

Strong proficiency in Python programming

Experience with automation tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation for infrastructure management

Practical knowledge of CI / CD systems such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI.

Understanding of networking, security protocols, and compliance standards specific to the financial services industry.
