What is the opportunity?

Provide support to the Global Transaction Banking (GTB) Due Diligence (DD) team and the business, in performing customer due diligence, client risk assessment, and other first line of defence (LOD) AML / KYC activities.

  • Please note, this is acontract opportunity

What will you do?

  • As part of client due diligence, ensure that information obtained is of high quality, is consistent with Policies and Procedures, and satisfies local and RBC Enterprise regulatory requirements.
  • Perform Client Risk Scoring, Client Identification, and KYC documentation reviews for on boarding (new clients / accounts) and KYC Refresh / Remediation (existing clients / accounts).
  • Update RBC GTB KYC systems and databases with the most current AML / KYC client information.
  • Escalate high risk records or applications to the Vice President, Due Diligence or AML Compliance as appropriate, and obtain sign-off as per established COE policies and procedures.
  • Track and report on file progress including percentage completed, sign off status, pending responses, and action plan to obtain necessary information.
  • Provide support to other DD staff and responds to day-to-day questions as they relate to client review efforts.
  • Generate required information and data to support periodic Management, Compliance, and Audit reporting.
  • Participate in related industry seminars and training as needed to enhance the knowledge of and keep apace with global KYC requirements.
  • Participate in regular update meetings to identify gaps, address risks, and implement process improvements or efficiencies for the GTB DD team.
  • Leverage and share client and stakeholder feedback to enhance quality and client experience.
  • Implement, or assist with the implementation of special projects as assigned by the by the Vice President / Director, Due Diligence.
  • What you need to succeed?

  • Maintains a working knowledge of AML / KYC requirements including OSFI, FINTRAC, and other applicable Canadian regulations.
  • Possesses excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Possesses the ability to assess, impact, influence and take initiative.
  • Possesses proficient analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Exercises good judgement, confidentiality, and discretion in communicating with colleagues and partners.
  • Demonstrates the ability to manage competing priorities, escalate as required, and adhere to established policies and procedures.
  • Understands RBC and RBC Capital Markets business units.
