PACT (Pearson Accelerator Construction Team) is a General Partnership of Alberici, Amico, Kenaidan, and Obayashi, supported by design partners Egis, Mott MacDonald, and Weston Williamson + Partners. Together, we are delivering Accelerator, a major program of Pearson LIFT (Long-term Investment in Facilities and Terminals), Toronto Pearson's infrastructure development plan. This multi-year program is designed to address immediate passenger growth demands while preparing Canadas largest airport for the future of air travelincluding critical upgrades to airfield and infrastructure, greenhouse gas reduction initiatives, modernization of Terminals 1 and 3, and the creation of a world-class passenger experience.
The Electrical Estimator will be employed directly by one of PACTs parent companies and embedded within the PACT program team. This role is responsible for preparing accurate, competitive electrical cost estimates in support of large-scale aviation and infrastructure projects. This is a full-time, permanent position, with long-term employment continuing beyond the PACT project.
Responsibilities
- Prepare detailed electrical estimates including labour, materials, equipment, subcontractor pricing, indirects, and contingencies
- Perform quantity take-offs for electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, controls, ductbanks, grounding, and communications
- Review drawings, specifications, scope documents, and contract requirements to develop comprehensive estimates
- Support bid preparation, tender submissions, and pricing strategies
- Collaborate with engineering, construction, procurement, and commercial teams to validate scope, assumptions, and constructability
- Participate in risk identification, value engineering, and cost optimization exercises
- Maintain estimating databases, cost benchmarks, and historical pricing information
- Support change order pricing and cost validation during project execution
- Participate in estimate handover meetings to ensure continuity from preconstruction to delivery
Desired Skills, Knowledge & Competencies
Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or a related fieldMinimum 5 years of experience in electrical estimating within infrastructure, transportation, industrial, or heavy civil constructionExperience on large, complex projects; aviation experience is considered an assetStrong understanding of electrical systems, construction methodologies, and applicable codesProficiency with estimating tools and software (e.g., Excel, Bluebeam, Accubid or similar)Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and contract documentsStrong analytical, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative, multi-stakeholder environmentWork ConditionsThe position will be based at our offices in Mississauga, Ontario, with regular visits to the site offices as required. This position is 5 days per week with core hours of work between approximately 8 : 00am5 : 00pm with 1 hour Lunch or as agreed upon with your manager.
