Senior Project Manager – Base Building

MatchBox Consulting Group has partnered with a longstanding BC general contractor known for delivering some of the Lower Mainland’s most creative, challenging, and high-visibility commercial and institutional builds.

This is a flagship Senior PM role —the kind of seat where you step into complex, high-impact projects and help shape how the company delivers work across B.C.

What You’ll Build

You’ll lead ground-up and structural upgrade projects in the $12M–$20M range, with scopes that routinely include :

Full-building retrofits + reconfigurations

Institutional expansions

Structural upgrades and envelope improvements

Public-facing community facilities

Specialized commercial spaces requiring precise sequencing and stakeholder management

These are high-touch, high-stakes projects where your planning, leadership, and client management directly drive outcomes.

What You’ll Do

Own full-cycle delivery from preconstruction through turnover

Lead scheduling, cost management, risk mitigation, and documentation

Partner with talented Site Supers to drive quality and maintain momentum

Communicate proactively with architects, consultants, suppliers, and city officials

Build trust with clients through transparency, clarity, and results

Create solutions—not excuses—when challenges land on your plate

Shape project culture and help influence how the team executes future work

What You Bring

Experience & Capability

5–10+ years leading commercial or institutional construction projects

Strong background in base-building, structural, or retrofit environments

Proven ability to manage multiple subs, technical scopes, and project stakeholders

Comfort with modern construction platforms (Procore, Smartsheet, etc.)

Post-secondary technical training (BCIT or similar)
