JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a ServiceNow Configuration Management Analyst who will report to the ServiceNow Product Owner and will be tasked with overseeing the ServiceNow Configuration Management Database (CMDB) while specializing in the Common Service Data Model (CSDM) framework. As part of your role, you’ll be responsible for configuring, managing, and optimizing the CMDB alongside the design, development, and maintenance of the CSDM architecture within ServiceNow.

YOU’LL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO :

  • Review and optimize existing configuration management (CM) processes, including creating news ones to ensure best practices and alignment with organizational standards, including adherence to the Common Service Data Model (CSDM).
  • Maintain data integrity and security of the Configuration Management Database (CMDB), following data management and governance guidelines within the context of CSDM.
  • Conduct and schedule audits on the CMDB to enhance accuracy and completeness of data.
  • Maintain the configuration management plan.
  • Identify and document the relationships between IT infrastructure, services, and business services, and ensure that the CSDM accurately represents these relationships.
  • Develop, enforce, and implement data management and governance policies to ensure data accuracy and completeness within the CSDM framework.
  • Configure and optimize Identification and Reconciliation Engine (IRE) rules within the CMDB framework.
  • Provide guidance and training to ServiceNow users on CSDM-related topics, including CI management and data governance.
  • Collect and store information for risk assessment and impact analysis.
  • Monitor, maintain, and continue to improve the CMDB health dashboard.
  • Execute change requests for CMDB configuration.
  • Use Data Manager to bulk update Configuration Items for checkout, deletion, or archiving.
  • Configure records and run queries for the CMDB.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to identify new CIs and service relationships that should be added to the CSDM to improve visibility, reporting, and analysis.

YOU WILL THRIVE IN THIS ROLE IF YOU HAVE THE FOLLOWING SKILLS AND QUALITIES :

  • Excellent understanding of CSDM concepts.
  • 4+ years’ experience working as a configuration manager, or similar role.
  • 4+ years’ working within ServiceNow, with a strong understanding of ITSM and SPM (Strategic Portfolio Management) modules.
  • Strong understanding of IT resource and configuration management principles.
  • Knowledge of network protocols, devices, and infrastructure components.
  • Data analysis and reporting skills.
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting capabilities.
  • Technical documentation skills.
  • SPM (Strategic Portfolio Management) knowledge is an asset.
  • Certified as implementation specialist - service mapping.
  • The following certifications would be considered an asset :

  • Certified System Administrator (CSA) in Service Now.
  • Implementation Specialist – Discovery.
  • ITIL V4.
