Job Description and Requirements :

Mount Sentinel Secondary is looking for an innovative, creative and flexible teacher who can demonstrate a proficient understanding of the renewed BC curriculum, the new K-12 reporting policy, and School District 8, Kootenay Lake’s 2024 - 2029 Strategic Plan . The awarded applicant will be experienced in teaching in a multi-aged setting, fluent in assessment strategies that support learning, universal design for learning, technology integration and will strive to create an engaging, challenging, and supportive learning environment working with the Technology Education strand of the Applied , Design , Skills and Technology Curriculum. The applicant will also have recent experience tea ching in a middle and secondary school setting guiding students through the design process - ideation, prototyping, testing and refinement. Position Description :

The awarded applicant will teach Technology Education 7 / 8, Woodwork 9-12, Mechanics 9 / 10, Automotive Technology 11 / 12, and Technology Integration Support block 7-12 .

School District #8 (Kootenay Lake) is located in the southern Interior of British Columbia, Canada and serves the Lower Kootenay Band and the communities of Kaslo, Meadow Creek, Crawford Bay, Creston, Wynndel, Yahk, Nelson, Salmo, South Slocan, Winlaw, Slocan, and the surrounding rural areas. Salary Range; $63,367 - $111,488 per year, in accordance with the current SD8-Kootenay Lake / KLTF Collective Agreement. Placement on the salary grid is based on qualifications and years of teaching experience as evaluated by the BC Teacher Qualification Service (TQS).
