Job Description

Location : Western Zone, Soldiers Memorial Hospital

Department : OPWZ Rehab Physiotherapy Comm

Type of Employment : Permanent Full-Time (100%)

About The Opportunity

The Physiotherapist assesses, diagnoses, and treats seniors who present with functional limitations, pain, or potential impairments. The role is part of the Seniors LINCS interdisciplinary team, primarily serving patients in community settings and collaborating with physicians, nurses, and other care providers to maximize functional independence. The PT also supervises physiotherapy students and Rehabilitation Assistants and supports Geriatricians in ambulatory care settings.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or Entry Level Masters program in Physiotherapy from an accredited university
  • Membership with the Nova Scotia Regulator of Physiotherapy
  • Computer skills (statistics input, word processing, Outlook)
  • Relevant first aid / CPR certification
  • Experience in geriatric care (asset)
  • Competencies in additional languages (French preferred – asset)
  • Knowledge of advanced physiotherapy techniques such as cardio‑respiratory, stroke rehabilitation, manual therapy, balance training, etc. (desired)

Hours & Schedule

  • Permanent Full-Time – 75 hours bi‑weekly
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Compensation and Benefits

    Hourly rate : $38.43 – $50.98

    Eligible for a benefits package including health, dental, travel, long‑term disability, life insurance, and a defined benefit pension plan.
