NAIT’s Crane & Hoist Equipment Operator programsprepare students to operate any boom truck or mobile. As well as training themin advanced rigging practices for any load they may encounter as a craneoperator. Crane& Hoist Equipment Operator programs at our Spruce Grove Campus is currentlyrecruiting for continuing instructors who are energetic leaders, committed tostudent success, and have outstanding communication, interpersonal andorganizational skills.

KeyResponsibilities :

  • Prepareand present learning outcomes and activities in a classroom, laboratory andindustry setting
  • Participatein curriculum development, program reviews and course reviews
  • Facilitatethe learning process by utilizing instructional strategies that ensureefficient and effective delivery of course materials
  • Manageinstructional delivery and set the tone and climate for a safe and effectivelearning environment
  • Createassessment tools to evaluate the learning process and maintain progress records
  • Provideearly and on-going coaching and tutoring for students to maximize studentsuccess and retention
  • Respondto student issues
  • Utilizeappropriate educational technology for presentations, communications andprogram promotions
  • Maintenanceand / or submission of program / student records accurately and promptly
  • Maintainprofessional and ethical relationships with students, colleagues, and industrypartners
  • Activelyparticipate in the strategies of NAIT’s Strategic Plan and NAIT’s Academic Planas identified by the institute
  • Utilizeregular student feedback to identify and implement instructional improvement
  • Improvethe quality of instruction through professional development activities
  • Otherduties as assigned

  • Qualifications :

  • HighSchool Diploma
  • Completionof Crane and Hoist Equipment Operator Alberta Journeyperson certificate orprovincial equivalent required including Inter-Provincial Red Seal an asset
  • Minimum5 years recent industry experience after completion of Journeyperson ticketpreferred
  • Teachingexperience an asset
  • Remuneration :  Willcommensurate with education and experience, plus a comprehensive benefitspackage.

    Instructor salary grid $65,218.00 - $113,452.00annually. However, starting salary for new hires averages between $78,998.00 - $85,889.00annually based on education and experience with room for negotiations. (Classification– Instructor).

    Thisposition is covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement
