Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive, evidence‑based Occupational Therapy services to clients
- Apply clinical expertise in assessment, intervention, consultation, case management, discharge planning, education, and follow‑up
- Perform clinical evaluations, including admission assessments, ADL assessments, specialized seating and positioning assessments
- Identify appropriate equipment needs and initiate recommendations
- Consult with local vendors regarding equipment trials and complete applications / funding letters to Ministry of Health, insurance agencies and other funding parties
- Provide education on seating and positioning, independence with activities of daily living, wheelchairs and adaptive aides, and ongoing client and family education to improve function, independence and safety
- Provide ongoing evaluation of restraint use, wound prevention, falls and injury prevention
- Record assessment and treatment interventions in the client's chart
- Excel in a collaborative, inter‑disciplinary team environment
- Exhibit sound professional judgment
Qualifications
Registered and in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists in your province1–3 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist is preferred (newly licensed graduates accepted)Excellent written and verbal communication skillsKnowledge of current Occupational Therapy standards, modalities and scope of practice (or equivalent combination of education, training and experience)Valid Driver's License; reliable vehicle may be requiredIn some cases, Vulnerable Sector screening check and Tuberculin (2‑step Mantoux Test) clearance (within 6 months)Other Requirements
Clinical experience in brain injury, mental health, musculoskeletal, home safety, ergonomics and / or return to work is an assetPassion for your profession and commitment to ongoing professional developmentSuperior interpersonal and communication skills, problem‑solving, time management, computer and documentation skillsProficiency in computer skillsAbility to work collaboratively as a member of a multidisciplinary teamBilingualism – French and English are assetsBenefits & Development
