Responsibilities
- Develop and implement health and safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Develop training and support to employees on health and safety practices.
- Monitor and analyze health and safety metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with site managers and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety.
- Ensure compliance with local, national, and international health and safety regulations.
- Develop and implement ergonomic programs to reduce workplace injuries and improve employee comfort and productivity.
- Ensure all sites have clear and accessible emergency egress routes and conduct regular drills to ensure preparedness.
- Coordinate with engineering teams to ensure human and machine physical flow aligns with best-in-class H&S practices.
- Oversee the safe operation and maintenance of equipment, ensuring all safety protocols are followed and equipment is regularly inspected and maintained.
- Prepare and present reports on health and safety performance to senior management.
- Collaborate with the Human Capital team in charge of employee case management to ensure optimal return-to-work practices, risk reduction and employee wellbeing.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health & safety, industrial relations, industrial engineering, or operations management.Graduate degree in management or health & safety is an asset10+ years in health and safety in an operational industry, experience in the transportation industry is an asset.Certification in health and safety is an asset (CRSP, CSP).Detail oriented and strong ability to keep people accountable.Strong leadership presence with ability to vision set and manage through influence.Intelcom is a leading last-mile carrier in the e-commerce sector.
